Yeah, people in this fandom need to learn to keep their kinks and the like to their bloody selves. We have enough of a reputation but after seeing the pics from some of the US cons, it makes me want to beat some people over the head for their stupidity.

and I hate to say it, but a lot of it seems to come from the US part of the fandom. I have had arguments with people who routinely put us all in a bad light by this and other public displays of fetish stuff (anyone remember the photos from that con last year of people in pet play gear in the lobby of the hotel?) and their argument is generally 'get over it, we can do what we want and you all have to accept it because 'this is who i am'

Yeah this entire thing upset me so much people were essentially sexually harassing tony the tiger even if it was for a joke this wouldn't be okay in any context. I have a lot of thoughts on this one but I'll keep it short to... the person in charge of the twitter account made a bad call in handling it but what the various furs did to that twitter was just disgusting.

Chester Cheetah was doing a pretty funny riff on it and I await people to do horrible things to that account too.

It's a very american thing these days to be an indignant and entitled exhibitionist. This obsessive desire for consequence free disclosal of all ones aspects. As example certainly many homosexuals make things harder for themselves in the larger culture by flaunting their every quirk in the faces, of people who already categorically loathe quirks and curiosities or even just of people who are more reserved and uncomfortable about it all (Making it more likely that such moderately intolerant people become more ill disposed towards you in the future). Double the shame on anyone who does this as a furry and as a homosexual. Being out in public as any subclass does not justify being a bloody obnoxious git.
