First of all, ask yourself what is every possible application that can exist where the brand logo will be shown, Email? Print on white? Print on dark? displayed on a webpage? existing as a favicon on a website tab? Logos have to be able to scale accordingly across multiple mediums, displayed on different colored backgrounds. With that thought in mind, think about how this logo would look on a CMYK black background. RGB colors print darker remember. Try placing it on different background colors. see what works and what doesnt.
From my intial look, that black outline is going to conflict with a black or dark background for instance. Removing that will make the bright royal blue of the logo more noticeable on any background color. Next I can tell you if this is 20px x 20px I will not be able to differentiate what it is at all. Space the head, the nose, and the ears out a tad more, and add more space between all three as the logo gets smaller in size. Furthermore, lighten the highlights to the same difference in color chroma as the blues for the shadow. The highlights draw away, as bright as they are, from the details of the face. This will only get worse as the logo gets smaller.
Those are just a couple things that will help it out initially especially when you use it for different applications.

this webpage has a logo I designed which has different color applications applied. This shows what I am describing above. Also notice how as a favicon (really small), you can't make out what the logo is anymore, try to avoid that :)
