well is it going to be plate, mail, scale, leather, steel, etc

Leather with some metal parts on shoulders and some other metal parts like rivets(?) etc. Lizard will eventually have plate armor.

well leather is usually more often than not held together by thonging on the sides [leather string XD] the metal would have to be rivited onto the leather and also the leggings wouldn't be like pants they would be chaps and crotch piece eather held together with straps or buckled on and there being underclothing too because leather armour was usually boiled to toughern up not how leather clothing was made today ^^

and plate is all rivits or hammer welded togetherand overlaps to cover up most gaps ^^
