My Kung Fu Panda character named Yunru. He lived 500 years prior to events in KFP.
He was a member of an alternate 'Five' created by the Emperor to take some responsibilities off the Furious Five back. That second Five was an 'experimental' team. It consisted of five, great warriors, and bearers of a certain curse who were strong enough to tame it and use it for their advantage.
That five was called Winter Five. It was made of animals who were suited to the cold climate; they operated in the mountain area.

Yunru had attained Inner Peace. With it he was able to spiritualy travel to Spirit World where has spend more than 10 years training, and thus buying himself time in the world of the living. Due to the diffirent time rules in the spiritual realm, those 10 years there were only few minutes.

In the result of some 'events' he captured the sould of his beloved one, leader of the team who was about to die from sickness, into his amulet; in the following year he made a long-standing contingency plan and said his goodbyes to the ppl close to him. Then he binded his soul to his amulet, killed himself and thus captured his soul in it.

One day he and his beloved one will be released and reunited, to be togheter again among the living and to help in stopping a possible greatest threat to ancient China.
