Ataos Histories Volume VXXI Angel Packs
The first Angel-pack was tested in 304 AF, by The Saint's Gladio and Philip a pair of noble knights whose much speculated comradeship brought about many of the innovations that brought about the Age of Magitech. While the origins of St. Philip is a mystery, as are the legends surrounding his disappearance, his statue stands alongside St. Gladio welcoming new recruits to the magitech academy of the western kingdoms. Noble Visage still looking down upon the great engineering houses and inspiring them with his courage and keen gaze.
This Legacy of invention and innovation will never be forgotten, though they themselves have become hazy and mythic figures seconded to the divine light itself.
The Modern Angel Pack uses compressed steam generated from a magical water source within the pack, super-heated through a fire-crystal, and directed out the exhaust at high speed. Controlled either through mechanisms in the fingers and a control helmet. A wearer can achieve Mach-1 at full speed, though only the best pilots can fly low. It is said the Saints were masters of flight.
