Beautiful :) I just now realized the tree appears to have once been whole, but has now split. *pauses* Are those budgies' heads I see at the top? :D But I like this one -- I remember another picture you did that involved some figure or another being protected and held close by one that seemed grotesque (to the stereotypical and dumbass'd eye) in comparison...and I liked that image. This has the same feelings...though um...I might be so twisted that at this point, I consider it to be sweet and "aww" because the sleeping fellow is being protected by the serpentine folks...when in reality, "Go back to sleep" might be followed by "So we can continue sneaking up on you to eat you omg" :0
Either way, I like the mix you have of dueling opposites and paired sames. And for what its worth...I'd sleep happily in that fella's place c:

LOL, they are.. plant-budgies perhaps? I don't really know D:
It occured to me that this picture has a similar looking theme to the last one I did involving a "contrast" between creatures. Though this was intended to be kinda the opposite. This time the serpent creature was supposed to pose a danger to the canine-thing, in some way or another.
Thanks muchly.

Hehe ever heard the saying let sleeping dogs lie? OBVIOUSLY that dragon thingy aint heard that saying yet xD
In my imagination i imagine the dragon trying to attack the canine, only for it to jump up and somehow grab its neck or something.
REally nice work Zarathus!
Taluthus!

I feel like I should get the meaning of the symbolism in this, but it's going over my head. Reminds me of my sleeping disorders :/ I get convulsions when I am about to fall asleep and it's the worst kind of sleeping hell I've ever been. Like, my body shuts down, mind falls asleep but then I twitch like something scared the daylights out of me. bleh.
I'm not sure if the background is a descend into blueness or a solid wall, though.

The intertwining branches of the tree are really... just awesome, as is the peculiar split in the tree trunk. And... that is definitely one mean-looking serpent. I get the feeling it's really biding its time-- as if there's no chance the sleeping canine will escape. D:
Lovely as usual. :) Don't know how you do it.
