This isn't really furry, but I thought people here might like it, too.
It all started with the guy's beard, actually. Have you ever notice how recreations of "prehistoric man" always have these lush beards - and lots of chest hair? I always figured that our prehistoric ancestors probably looked Siberian, or Amerindian - and those aren't ethnic groups known for secondary hair.
And then I guess I was thinking about Siberian traditions, which is why the drum and the staff. I wanted to do something neat to frame the figure - something that would be really significant to his people - which is why the little cave paintings. They aren't very much like the real ones - they're more Keith Haring than Neanderthal.
