Hello there fellow furries,

Andrew here and welcome to another addition to Andrew's Thoughts. Today, we're gonna be talking about the characters that were included into LEGO Dimensions. But what exactly is LEGO Dimensions? According to the LEGO wiki, an evil mastermind named Lord Vortech plans to control the entire LEGO multiverse by summoning characters from a variety of LEGO worlds to help him. So it is up to Batman, Gandalf, Wyldstyle, and many others to work together and stop Lord Vortech from achieving his goal of multiverse-domination. It uses content from many franchises, some from LEGO, most from third party franchises (like DC Comics, Lord of the Rings, etc).

Well, with all this content, the creators of this game included lots of interesting characters. However, I have only 1 issue with their choice of characters. I feel that there is too many third party franchises in the game compared to LEGO original content. Like here, let's compare this to the playable characters and what franchises they're from.

Now from looking at this, the first thing you can tell right away is that the third party franchises outnumber the LEGO franchises. LEGO only has 3 franchises involved in this game while the third party has 11 franchises involved in this game... 11! As for the amount of LEGO characters and third party characters all together, there are 15 LEGO characters while there are 29 third party characters... Why does the third party outnumber LEGO in this game?

I'm sure part of the reason they did this was to compete against Disney's Infinity, Skylanders, & amiibo. But LEGO has made many other interesting franchises on their own. Franchises that they should of involved in this game or even considered it. Like what about the Ultra Agents? Or BIONICLE (2015)? Or Hero Factory? Or Pirates? Or even Castle (2013)?

If anything, I feel that the creators of this game should have had more LEGO characters & less third party characters. Because this game is gonna make the newer LEGO fans think LEGO is all about LEGO versions of third party companies.

It might already be too late for them to include new characters into this game, but if they want some suggestions on new LEGO characters I strongly feel should be in this game & why, then allow me to introduce you all to my TOP 10 LEGO Franchise Pack Suggestions.

NUMBER 10
“Time Twister Team Pack”
Character 1: Tony Twister (LEGO Time Cruisers)
Character 2: Professor Millennium (LEGO Time Cruisers)
Vehicle 1: Time Tunnelator (LEGO Time Cruisers)
Vehicle 2: Whirling Time Warper (LEGO Time Cruisers)
This is a pack that'll probably not see the light of day anytime in the future. But I feel these guys should make a comeback in this game. Why? Because of the fact that they're involving Doc Brown & Marty from Back to the Future.
See, LEGO Time Cruisers (as you can probably tell from the name) is a time travel themed franchise similar to Back to the Future. However, there's one big difference between Back to the Future & LEGO Time Cruisers. The Time Cruisers have a rival faction, who also has access to time traveling technology, that want nothing more than to wreck the time stream, called the Time Twisters.
So since LEGO Dimensions have characters that want to save the time stream, I feel they should include characters that want to destroy it. Heck, I can already think of how Doc Brown & Marty McFly might react if they have to put up with characters like Tony Twister & Professor Millennium.

NUMBER 9
“Cassiopeia Fun Pack”
Character: Cassiopeia (LEGO Life on Mars)
Vehicle: Aero Tube Hangar Robot (LEGO Life on Mars)
Ah, LEGO Life on Mars... The theme that first introduced martians on Mars to the LEGO universe. What makes these guys interesting is that LEGO didn't use ordinary minifigure bodies to create them. Instead, they gave them an entirely new type of body based on how they made the Star Wars Battle Droids.
One of the martians from this franchise should be in this game for sure. More specifically, I feel Cassiopeia should be in this game. Why? Well not only because she's a female, but also because in the story of LEGO Life on Mars, she's the only martian who decided to help the human astronauts escape Mars and went back with them to Earth. Making her a good guy compared to the other martians. Not to mention that out of all the other alien characters LEGO created, she's the first LEGO alien who was good. The rest from what I've seen so far want nothing more than to conquer the Earth and/or terrorize the human race...
So she'd be a better choice compared to the other martians. … Unless LEGO wants to receive another letter from a little girl about there not being enough female LEGO sets that don't reflect around "girls that sit at home, go to the beach, and shop, and have no jobs"... Lol!

NUMBER 8
“Blacktron Team Pack”
Character 1: Space Villain (LEGO Minifigures)
Character 2: Blacktron Astronaut (Blacktron I)
Vehicle 1: Allied Avenger (Blacktron Future Generation)
Vehicle 2: Spectral Starguider (Blacktron Future Generation)
This is probably not gonna become a reality. But it would be interesting to see these characters in the game as playable characters. The reason behind this is because unless I am mistaken from looking at his torso, Space Villain is the leader of Blacktron. In the much older LEGO sets, Blacktron was the main rivals of the Space Police. Like in numerous older LEGO Space Police sets, they have a Blacktron Astronaut as a prisoner.
Then when the Space Police theme was reintroduced in 2010, people wondered if LEGO was gonna reintroduce the Blacktron franchise. Heck, one of the alien criminals was even wearing a generation 1 Blacktron uniform with a Blacktron Future Generation insignia! Not only that, but Space Villain was one of the 5 Minifigures chosen for a re-release in the VIP Top 5 Boxed Minifigures set!
With that said, I feel Blacktron should make a comeback in this game. And how they could fit into the story, they could have Blacktron form a truce with the heroes because if Lord Vortech destroys the universes, Space Villain wouldn't be able to conquer his universe.
If they do this, they should change the Blacktron Soldier's style to how they would of looked if LEGO decided to make a “Blacktron III”. Something that looks similar to the Blacktron I style, except improved.
And if they want to make things interesting, they should also have Evil Mech be playable too. Because it was created by Blacktron.

NUMBER 7
“Rocket Racer Fun Pack”
Character: Rocket Racer (LEGO Racers)
Vehicle: Rocket Racer's Car (LEGO Racers)
Since this character is a racer, he's probably pretty much gonna be useless. Though there are 2 reasons he's in this list. The first reason is that Rocket Racer is one of many minifigures that only appeared in video games. LEGO Racers and LEGO Racers 2. He never had an actual minifigure made of him nor his car. So making this character playable in this game would be interesting to players that remember him. And the other reason is his car. I haven't played LEGO Dimensions yet, so I don't know if there are any levels where (as Jacksepticeye says) “SPEED IS KEY!”. But if there are levels that require a fast vehicle, Rocket Racer's car would be perfect for such a level. Because his car is the fastest car in LEGO Racers. … Well, actually, Veronica Voltage's car is the fastest. But Rocket Racer was the boss of LEGO Racers, so I think he'd be a better choice than Veronica.

NUMBER 6
“LEGO Island Team Pack”
Character 1: Pepper Roni (LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts)
Character 2: Sky Lane (LEGO Universe)
Vehicle 1: Freeway Frenzy Car (LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts)
Vehicle 2: Venture Explorer (LEGO Universe)
Pepper Roni. Now there's a character many LEGO gamers should remember. If those of you that do know him think he was just a LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts minifigure, you are wrong. He was also the main character in LEGO Island and LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge. Which is the reason I feel he should be in this game. Because back in the old days, Pepper was basically the face of LEGO video games. Mostly the LEGO Island games, but he was the face of LEGO video games. Not to mention that in LEGO Island 2, it included elements from other LEGO franchises, not just LEGO Town like in the first game. And if that doesn't convince you he should be in this game, he was voiced by John Morris in LEGO Island (the guy who voiced Andy in Toy Story) and probably Stephanie Nadolny in LEGO Island 2 (the woman who voiced kid Goku in Dragon Ball and Gohan as a child in Dragon Ball Z). I could be wrong about the LEGO Island 2 voice actor (since the credits of the game don't tell you who voiced who), but if it is her, then that's another reason to convince you that Pepper Roni should be a playable character in LEGO Dimensions.
As for why Sky Lane is in here, it's because I feel that if they're gonna bring in Pepper, they should bring in Sky too since she's Pepper's friend and they work as a team in LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts. And why I feel the LEGO Universe version of her would be better, it's because the LEGO Universe version of her is the newest version of her they made. Also, she's affiliated with Venture League, and Venture League is my favorite faction in LEGO Universe. There's also another reason, but you'll have to look at my Number 2 pack suggestion to find out why.

NUMBER 5
“Space Police Level Pack”
Character: Space Police Officer (LEGO Space Police III)
Vehicle 1: Space Police Flyer (LEGO Space Police III)
Vehicle 2: K9-Bot (LEGO Space Police III)
If they're gonna have Blacktron involved in this, they should have their rivals involved too. LEGO Space Police III took place in an interesting looking setting. A space city (that I assume is called ''Galaxy City'') on an asteroid. Not sure if it looks like the city in the stop-motion videos they made, but seeing this city on the box art does make it look very interesting. As such, I'd like to see a level that takes place in “Galaxy City”. Like maybe they could have it take place after Brick Daddy was apprehended and they discover that the Black Hole Gang was working for a much higher force (Blacktron) this whole time.
And in that setting, they could have Blacktron invade the city while the Space Police try to fend off the invasion.
Besides, since they probably can't use Star Wars content for this game (since it's owned by Disney and they're using it for Disney's Infinity), franchises like Space Police, Blacktron, and many other Sci-Fi LEGO franchises could fill in the void that Star Wars would of. I mean Space Police is obviously nothing like Star Wars, but it's as close as LEGO is gonna get.

NUMBER 4
“Aquazone Team Pack”
Character 1: Commander Jock Clouseau (LEGO Aquazone)
Character 2: Thresher (LEGO Aquazone)
Vehicle 1: Sea Sprint 9 (LEGO Aquazone)
Vehicle 2: Spy Shark (LEGO Aquazone)
Now here's a set that should have a comeback. Anybody remember LEGO Aquazone? If not, then either you weren't born when they existed or you missed out on one of the most interesting LEGO original franchises in LEGO history EVER!
I mean just look at their TV commercials, that right there is some awesome LEGO entertainment! I am extremely amazed that this franchise only appeared in short-comics in the LEGO magazine, they never had a video game, a TV show, or even a cameo in a video game!
With that said, I think the Aquazone should make a comeback in this game. Because a franchise this interesting deserves to come back! And if there are levels that require a character that can go underwater, these two could come in handy. As for why I picked these characters, it's because Jock is the leader of the Aquanauts while Thresher is the leader of the Aquasharks.
If they make these into a reality, they might separate them into fun packs. If they plan to do that, they should have Jock's pack be a level pack so that they can include an Aquazone level.

NUMBER 3
“UFO/Insectoids Team Pack”
Character 1: Alpha Draconis (LEGO UFO)
Character 2: Gypsy Moth (LEGO Insectoids)
Vehicle 1: Alien Avenger (LEGO UFO)
Vehicle 2: Sonic Stinger (LEGO Insectoids)
If they made this one into a reality, I'm sure they would separate them into Fun Packs than put them together in a Team Pack. The reason I would like these characters to be playable is because they come from LEGOs first extra-terrestrial franchises. Before LEGO UFO, LEGO did space franchises that only have humans... But when LEGO UFO came around, aliens were finally introduced. And the creation of the UFO Aliens led to the Insectoids of LEGO Insectoids, then the Martians of LEGO Life on Mars, then the Crystaliens of LEGO Mars Mission, then the alien criminals of LEGO Space Police III, then the Planet X-2 aliens of LEGO Alien Conquest, then the Alien Bugs of LEGO Galaxy Squad, and so on. It has basically expanded the LEGO universe to feats some probably didn't think possible. As such, I feel they should congratulate LEGO UFO & LEGO Insectoids by having Alpha Draconis & Gypsy Moth star in this game as playable characters. ESPECIALLY ALPHA DRACONIS since he came first! For if it wasn't for them, we'd probably still have humans in space LEGOs... Lol!

NUMBER 2
“LEGO Universe Team Packs 1 & 2”

Yes, I am aware I included 2 packs for this one, but the reason for both packs is the same and if LEGO decides to make this one into a reality, they may as well include both packs to please the people in question. Or even better, make a “Quad Pack” that comes with 4 characters & 4 vehicles.
Anyway, the reason these 4 are in my list is because of the video game they come from, LEGO Universe. It was LEGO's first attempt at making an MMORPG for LEGO. It had an interesting story and setting, but it didn't last long for some reason.
Though that's the case, there are many people that never had the chance to play this game before it's cancellation, me being one of them... Never had the chance to see this amazing world LEGO Universe has made. There are even many people that are quite passionate about the game &/or very upset at LEGO for canceling this game… As such, I feel the leaders of the 4 joinable factions should be playable in LEGO Dimensions. Especially Hael Storm, I would love to see the leader of Venture League in this game. That way, it would give players the opportunity to experience what they missed out from LEGO Universe.
So if you want to please your fans LEGO, bring these characters into LEGO Dimensions as playable characters!

AND THE NUMBER 1 LEGO FRANCHISE PACK I'D LIKE TO SEE BECOME A REALITY IS...
“Adventurers Level Pack”
Character: Johnny Thunder (LEGO Universe)
Vehicle 1: Scorpion Tracker (LEGO Adventurers)
Vehicle 2: Thunder Blazer (LEGO Orient Expedition)
Out of every character they have brought into LEGO Dimensions, this character is the only character I'd like to see LEGO bring into this game. Johnny Thunder is my all time favorite LEGO character. To show how serious I am about that, I literally bought the Super Secret Police Dropship just so that I can have LEGO's most recent Johnny Thunder minifigure. I didn't care about everything else in this set, all I wanted was the minifigure. In fact, if my older brother would of came when I told him to, I would of asked him if we could buy this together if he'll let me keep Johnny Thunder (since he liked the Dropship a lot).
I'm not sure what it was about Johnny Thunder that I liked. Maybe it was because he's kinda like LEGO's version of Indiana Jones. Maybe I liked the fact that he was an adventurer. Whatever it was, I just instantly fell in love with this franchise when they came out with the Egypt theme of LEGO Adventurers.
I would love to be able to play as Johnny Thunder in this game. I would love to be able to play in his world in this game. He needs to be in this game!
But why do I think he should be in this game other than the fact that I'm basically a fan of Johnny Thunder? It's because he could fill the void that Indiana Jones would of filled if they were allowed to put Indy in this game. Since Disney now owns the rights to LucasArts, I doubt they would allow LEGO to use Indiana Jones for LEGO Dimensions. … Even though Disney is more obsessed with Star Wars and are basically keeping every other LucasArts creation dead...
Johnny Thunder may not have a whip like Indiana Jones, but they're both passionate archaeologist, and they can outrun big round objects (Lol!). Johnny definitely needs to be in this game. I don't want anyone that's similar to Johnny Thunder, I just want Johnny Thunder. Plain and simple. Johnny Thunder is my childhood!
I admire the fact that they made him playable in The LEGO Movie Videogame with a cheat code, but I want to see this guy playable in LEGO Dimensions. If they can't have him styled after his LEGO Universe counterpart, I don't care. Just as long as he looks like Johnny Thunder, acts like Johnny Thunder, and IS the one & only Johnny Thunder.
I do have a favor to ask though, if they include Johnny Thunder as a playable character, I'd like to see Josh Thunder (his descendant) be playable too. I think it would be interesting to have Johnny Thunder and his descendant working together and learning from one another.
