This song was inspired by a story called "Learning to fly", which I read a long time ago in a fanzine.
Lyrics see http://furry.de/jumpy/WingedAngels.txt
Previously published in somewhat lower encoding quality on the furry music foundation, but with it being in hiatus for almost forever now I have decided to put my music up here. Uploading a small backlog a few pieces at a time.
Hope you enjoy and be well.

You are very welcome.
The low volume of the vocal track in the originally published recording was due to accidentally switching stereo channels when feeding back the reverb for the vocals on the verses. Back in those days I used an actual external reverb device.
The funny thing is, many furs noticed the low quality, but it took almost three years until someone actually told me the version on the FMF was broken. Some probably thought the low volume was intentional, I'm not sure. By then the FMF had already slipped into hiatus and I couldn't do anything about it any more, so up to this day, the broken version is still available for download.

Truely a masterpiece of your's Jumpy. I know i mailed you about this about a looong time ago but should you ever ever find that fanzine with the story again, or remember the name of it or know where i can find this story online PLEASE drop me a note here on FA. It would be gratly apreciated
I know it's been a while but I've actually found out details about this story today. Making a note here so I don't ever lose this info again.
"Learning to Fly" by James Charles Lynn was a 4 part series published starting in Yarf #26.
Sadly, I could not find it online, but with this info it should at least be possible to get your hands on a copy.

I have listened to this song no less than 8 times in the last 24 hours. It is not difficult to make me emotional... but I still must say I am moved to tears with each listen. I love that the last verse has two of the loudest-sang lines in the song, followed immediately by a really quiet line. One expects the louder singing to continue, and the unexpected reduction in volume...
I am almost sniffling again just trying to describe it via my keyboard. The sudden change to quiet really, really makes the character's emotions hit you like a wall, but then it's not over and picks back up with one last refrain. It's so good that you can feel it even upon the first listen when one doesn't know the theme or lyrics yet.
Again, I cannot emphasize how strongly this makes me feel... I'm sniffling a tad more just trying to analyze it in my head to leave this comment.
When I think of "furry music", this is what I want it to be. This, "Furry Art", "The Wolf in You", even the not-singing, just-talking ("text is spoken since I can't really sing") over the cheesy MIDI instruments in "When I Close My Eyes" is great because the lyrics are so, so personally relatable. I've felt those feelings so exactly that it's scary to know I'm not the only one (well, I've already known it wasn't just me since 2011... but scary as in, so similar that I must ask if someone was reading my mind).
I really want to say more, but I'm just left speechless when it comes to figuring how to complement and praise your music more. I hope my rambling above is good enough.
