A quick snap I got of the Gwynfi valley, before heading back to university.
The tarmacked pathway is the route of the old railway line, which ran up the valley from the coast, right the way to a tunnel at the head of the valley, which leads to the Rhondda Valley. It is one of the longest tunnels in Wales, and is currently undergoing renovation, so that it can be opened for public use in the near future. It would cut the journey time from my home to Cardiff by more than an hour, and would save a lot of energy spent pedalling over the mountains, so I'm very much looking forward to it! ^__^
Hope you enjoy!
