That's pretty much why I went all in with this petition - I wanted to see if I could change something. Well, maybe not the DIRECT thing the petition is for (I doubt we'll ever see this game on disc), but I wanted to see if I could send in the remaining 2,500 people needed to sign the petition so it would at LEAST be submitted.

And I figured it'd be easy-peasy, considering here I have a little over 5k watchers, and on dA I have almost 6k! But it turns out the amount of people I could rouse was relatively small (around 500).

So it's disappointing, but through all of it, I have learned something important - I may have 11k watchers or so, but I can't take for granted that all or even half of them will "have my back" at any given time, and that kinda sucks! But at the same time, I learned that I have QUITE A FEW awesome friends who are more than just watchers, they're legitimate, awesome friends, and they're willing to cheer me on and cheer me up, even when I fail to reach a goal. xD

And as cheesy as it sounds...that was worth learning even if this never gets to 5,000 sigs. xD

For a lot of reasons! For one, it strengthened the friendships I had with people on both websites. And for another, it knocked some sense into me - I always thought I almost had an army 11k strong who could help me in a time of need, and it's VERY GOOD to know it's actually just about 500 awesome friends who are worth more than that in the end, anyway. x3

...And after this is all said and done, I will NEVER torture my watchers like this again! xD That's a promise!

Yeah, I've felt that way about my books too. I have 2800 watchers on FA and probably that many across other sites too, but it's a lot of work to sell 500 or 1000 copies of a book, let alone 2800. But how many of those folks check FA frequently? How many are worried their roommates will find it and tease them? How many even noticed the announcements? I often have fans find me at cons only to be surprised I even have books. X)

So yes, I think you've got the right takeaway from this. : )
