This beautiful piece of my still unnamed Japanese Bird lady was drawn by  caliosidhe.

She is married to a single tailed Kitsune Fox. The two of them, along with his sister, operate a traditional Japanese food cart. The time-frame is mid to late 19th century Japan in terms of technology.

The three of them together own a remote lake where they get their fish. The husband casts fertility spells on the lake to ensure a steady supply of fish. The cute bird lady flies over and harvests the fish, as we see here. The sister, the trickster of the trio, sets up magical traps around the lake to thwart poaching. Nothing lethal of course, but enough that a poacher will wisely choose not to return a second time.The spells are of course cast so that the three of them do not trigger them and so can move about the land about the lake without worry.

I just LOVE how this picture came out. It is absolutely beautiful and a nice dynamic pose, showing how she uses her wings to balance has she grasps things with her feet. Not having hands makes things difficult for her of course, but she is a powerful flyer. She is an interesting character.
