This is a huge mess but I got it out of my system, so I’m good. This is pretty much a glorified sketch, or at least I tried to keep myself from dwelling on things too much. It’s ok enough for me to move on. Bloodborne slowly is consuming me.
I imagine Viola probably goes through an extreme amount of stress and anxiety when Father Gascoigne is out on the night of the hunt. She probably normally paces the house and sits by the door, waiting as patiently as she can for her husband to arrive home. Then when he does she can’t help but embrace him as quickly as she can, even though he’s usually covered in dirt and blood. And he can’t help but lift her up and hold her close, even when his body is battered and beaten.
Which is why it only makes sense that Viola would go out looking for him when her hunter did not arrive home one night.

Father Gascoigne actually has a substantial amount of lore behind him if you're willing to read into it. One being he's the only Hunter that's married, and has children, that alone is a bit strange for the game. It's also said in the gear that him and henryk were good friends, and there's mention from his daughters that Henryk probably was a grandfather figure to them. Eileen also sounds surprised and saddened when she finds that you've slain Gascoigne, as if she was friends with him at one point and never expected him to truly need to be killed. Then there's also how both of Gascoigne's daughters and his wife end up dying, that in its self makes him more of a favorite since the way it's done is utterly sad.
Also, it shows how much his family, specifically his wife loved him, when she was willing to go outside, unarmed, to look for husband on the most dangerous night possible. People also think that Gascoigne killed his wife, but I personally think the people he's chopping up in the cutscene are the ones who did it, and that drives him over the edge. I also just enjoy his size and design as well. He also isn't just a boss, you can summon him for the cleric beast fight.
Amalia has lore, but as far as bosses go, there's MUCH less on her. I've seen more art of her than Gascoigne honestly. There's a lot of speculation about her, but like a lot of bosses in the game, barely anything is really talked about with her. The skull also is most likely one of the old important hunters (can't remember the name right now) but that doesn't actually tell us much about amalia herself.
I also didn't find the game very easy. Being I played all the souls games, it definitely has a different style to fighting that I think takes time to get used to. It really focused more on the actual player's game play more so than getting items, which i find both good and bad. There are definitely weapons that are better than others, but they aren't as needed as say the upgrades in swords in Dark Souls 1. I think this was a way of making players keep on their toes instead of relying on just having "the best armor" like in other from soft games. I do wish there was more stuff to get, but I don't mind the change, since it's a way of focusing on gameplay that is faster than normal.

yeah but that's what i mean. it's a really odd place for her body if he supposedly killed her. the bodies he's cutting up could have also possibly been hunters, and that's why he goes on that monologue at the beginning about how all hunters turn to beasts before attacking you.
Gosh all the artwork you've done is making me love this dude even more. ;w; He was always a favorite character of mine in the game, and was quite a pain in the butt to beat as well (considering I'm not used to the DS style of game) but regardless, you do an amazing job capturing him.
Keep up the lovely work and I look forward to see more of these two. ;)
