There’s a…state on mind, on the event horizon between sleep and conciousness, where the mind can become …chatty. A brain that has not completed its boot process flinging about ideas and thoughts, scrapping and swapping them so fast it can barely catch the tail end of one before the next busts in the room.
The titular idea happens to be one that was caught and which I felt would make a nice painting. Afterall, I’ve long felt like my works are a bit too...bound by gravity.

Ah, I didn't mean that this period lasts for long - the opposite in fact. I think. Perception of time and sleep is not a good mix.
Or, put another way - not the idle, drifting thoughts of drowsiness, but the wild, reality-bendingness of a dream, just firing off in rapid succession.

This sort of thing seems to happen to me for hours in the right state of mind. I'll lie in bed, having woken up, and I can happily keep it going for about two hours.
The only downside to this is that I feel like I wasted my day while my brain rattles off connections here and there that lead to nowhere.
