The Akhlut is a bloodthirsty shapeshifter from Inuit mythology - a wolf on the land, an orca in the sea. You can tell when an Akhlut is responsible for carnage because the wolf's pawprints go down the beach and disappear into the frigid sea.
This specimen is obviously in the midst of a transformation.
Originally this was intended as part of a calendar (obviously one of the winter months), until I decided no one wanted to stare at my art for a year. It's 10 below here, so I felt it was a good occasion to dust it off.
