Ah this reminds me of my younger years, suggestions and constructive criticism would be to see if you can get your hands on some actual art technique books or find some online. Try holding your pencil loosely and at a much lower angle, try just practicing the basic anatomy of animals and humans. This will take time and vigilance but also try just basic shapes and bubbles for where the head and body would be.
