today was kind of weird, i couldn't get a solid idea to congeal for what to draw, so i decided to post something i drew a while ago.

yeah, i didn't make it TODAY, but i wanted to post SOMETHING so i didn't feel like such a cop-out.

Anyway, the massive creature you see standing behind the relatively small bear is my character's dark side. Magic, in this worlds, is enabled by these crystals of some kind of otherworldly mineral dropped through the breaches created by ftl travel.

these crystals, when used by a sentient being long enough to cast magic, imprint the darkest parts of a person's spirit onto it; their malignance, grudges, their worst vice, and if left without being taken care of properly, turn into a creature known as a Devouring. they're each unique to the sentient being in question, but their forms vary, alll having a very monstrous angelic theme, as the dimension of the crystals' origin is divine, all based on the Sins, with my own revisions made to the system.

In my case, my character has the ability summon it directly, or even transforming into it if needed.

Enter Abaddon. Belonging to the Gluttony family, this Devouring houses massive swarms of ravenous insects inside his own body, roaming through the land and letting his insects consume anything edible before returning to him. naturally this makes him quite the hazard, but when simply channelling his powers, the effect is much less pronounced.
