To celebrate getting my FC art and stock mailed off today I rewarded myself with some playing around. I bought this sketchbook last year some time and promptly lost it. Over Christmas I had cleaned up my room and refound it. I now know why artists love this sorta brown kraft paper. It's immensely fun to work on!!!!! It's always so rewarding to try new things:)
This was the first pic I did. It's based on a photo I took at the Binder Zoo last May. Damn it was fun to draw! I love the results and way the paper reacted to the pencil. It's nice to be happy with something even if it is such a small and simple sketch. I am so looking foward to trying some watercolours on this paper. I'm mulling over whether I want to matt and bring these two sketches for the FC art show as fillers. Both are non anthro but there's plenty of that stuff at furry cons.
