The desert holds its on kind of beauty. It is stark, with colors unkind to the other spectrums yet in itself it holds its own charms.

This is out in central Oregon, literally the middle of nowhere. The closest "town" being Riley, which consists of a general store, post office and gas-station. I come out here for a few reasons: 1. it has the greatest source of Obsidian in the Pacific Northwest, and 2. For its stark beauty.
I've taken shots that range from costal, to high mountains and now on to the high deserts as well. Each place i've visited has its own unique beauty. Be advised however that each also has its own dangers. While I didn't encounter any, do watch out/listen for rattle snakes.
If you'd like more information on the particulars on mining obsidian and the areas rules and regs on it, please feel free to note me on the subject and I'd be more than happy to pass along my info :)
