Seems the couch has a limit of tension to handle a certain amount of gravitational mass being sat on it. Once that limit is passed, the couch breaks. Seems you adding more mass to you from that chocolate bar did the trick. It's basic math and science.
Really great art piece though. I think the shading, especially on the body, is great as well as the curvature.
