Being a homunculus (and a toony one at that), he's still most certainly alive and may eventually recover...but considering how often Slade enjoys making full use of his socks...that may take a while...

Hehe, that part does sounds pretty nice...but he'll still have to separate you from the sock, and after being stepped on and washed for weeks on end, you're definitely looking forward to about an hour of slowly being stretched and pulled as your body is peeled away from the sock. XD
How about as the butter on french toast. Bread could be one fur, the syrup could be another, and the butter a third. Might be an interesting idea for a comic. Could have the butter fur, actually be churned. Syrup fur could take a trip to a maple house, and sample some of the syrup only to find out he/she is over a grate and melting through it.
