A Colt LE ar15 with M4 markings that I picked up from Selway Armory the other day. I've always intended to build myself a clone of the military M4 carbine, and with exception of the 16" barrel and no select fire control group, this is a fairly accurate copy of the Marine Corps issued M4s. Very satisfied with how it turned out.

And I'd love to be able to take an AR hunting at some point, except law up here forbids that (AR15 and derivatives are considered 'restricted', and the original AR10s are quite rare).
So I'd have to make do with a Modern Hunter kitted to be a C7NLD in all but calibre and receiver.

I don't see the point of paying $200, wading through mounds of legal paperwork and waiting 12 months just to make the barrel 1.5 inches shorter. If I did replace the barrel, I'd have the flash hider pinned to make it the legal 16". Right now, I don't see the point of replacing a brand new Colt barrel.
More than just a tax stamp? At least the law up here in Canada doesn't restrict barrel length too much, even if it makes no sense.. Under 18.5" and semiauto by any means, restricted. under 18" if cut down afterwards, illegal. 6" bbl installed on a bare upper, this the first bbl ever installed on the rifle/did it leave the factory in this way? Perfectly legal.
