He approached slowly, not entirely sure when he'd begun to take such cautions around his travelling companion. But there she sat on a precarious outcropping, looking just one smile short of a metaphor. Her attention was honed in on the dawn-touched horizon, her posture all edges and contemplative intensity. What he'd give to have her look at him like that. With focus and genuine, soulful eyes. He realized then, that he'd stopped regarding her as just another piece of meat inhabiting the same space. She was not quite a lady, a salt of the earth type. Porcelain turned steel through the trials and relentless forging of life. Now that he thought about it, she was just as, if not more, complex than he. Stepping onto the rock, he moved up behind her. Nonthreatening...asking permission without words. And ever so gently, as the sun breached the distant mountains, the back of his hand grazed her shoulder. And for once, she relaxed at his touch.

I am so out of practice, you guys. I have not digital art'd in at least a year. Sketches in my notebook here and there, but life has drained my energy and inspiration for the most part. But my husband, in an effort to rekindle my passion for drawing, bought me a new tablet for Christmas. Been working on this bit by bit since then. It's been difficult to force myself back into it, and I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with the result, but it's a start. Couldn't bring myself to pull an entire background out nowhere, so I took a screen cap in Skyrim and tweaked it a bit.

Featured in this work is my most recent Skyrim character, Sha'ul. Her race was created by a talented modder (credited below). The strapping canine at her side is a character I was asked to design by a dear friend.

Dovetailing off that, I'd also like to take a moment to thank that friend who would have rather gone unsung in the matter of providing inspiration for me. Oats, I admire you in so many ways and I thank you for allowing me the privilege of designing your character. More over, thank you for opening up and incorporating features of your self into said 'sona. I know you dislike dredging up the past, but it says a lot that you'd do so.
