A lot of time I have trouble falling asleep (hurrah for me messing with my bio clock) and sometimes to help me fall asleep, I make up monsters in my head, and this is one of them.
These guys dwell underground. And while you don't really see it well (because of the lighting) it has tentacles growing out of its back. These tentacles work similar in the way of a jellyfish in that they sting and as they sting the inject a poison into the system of the prey. The way the poison works is that it liquifies the internal organs of the prey over a period of an hour. An hour later the creature (who stalks the prey, waiting for it to eventually die) will descend up on it.
That area between the creature's seemingly disjointed jaws is a stretched covering of very fine skin. There are slots that are seemingly cut in this membrane/skin covering. The upper slots are where a sharp, razor-like bone is pushed through. This bone is used to slice open the prey. The lower slots are where it sucks up the victims former organs.
FUN! :D
I may or may not draw the creatures who hunt these guys for food.
And it's been a while since I've done some inkwork.

So like, when I was just a wee young pup thoughts that there may be creatures like this made me afraid of the bathroom, tub, shower, kitchen sink, etc. Cause I had (read as: still have) an overactive imagination and I could just see that kind of stuff happen.
It probably didn't help that I read horror stories and watched horror movies, either.

Closets and under the bed never really bothered me either. It's always been the bathroom and hallways and like the upstairs area of my church (especially when I'm the only one up there).
I reallyreally think that place is haunted which makes going to the bathroom during youth not so fun.

I know. Bathrooms for some reason were just creepy. I was especially afraid of something coming up out of the toilet or something. I really don't know why. In fact, usually immediately after I flushed I would open the bathroom door so I could easily escape if anything happened. :/
