This is the first in a series of three submissions featuring these characters: Eleanor Rigby (left) and Penny Lane (right). They're both named after songs by the Beatles. I'll try to draw the next two sometime soon. I'll probably draw more stuff with them later, if I think of anything.

Eleanor is a lonely rabbit with eccentric clothes, and Penny is a dog of some sort with, appropriately, copper-colored fur.

The first time I heard Penny Lane I didn't pay enough attention to the lyrics and thought the song was about and named after a woman rather than a street. My confusion is now immortalized with this character.

Eleanor's clothes pretty much materialized in my head as soon as I thought of doing this series a few weeks ago. The jacket and socks were the strongest images in my head. I don't know why I would imagine such clothes. The hat is an exception: she's wearing a hat because the top of her head looked bad.

For some reason I doubt that you'll really find a lot of phở in England. Their loss, anyway. I wanted it to be there.

EDIT: Corrected the year. It might be a while before I get used to writing 2009.
