The old version of him was falling apart so I decided to gather every furscrap of his colors I still have together and refurbished him. I still need to get a decent photo of him while wearing him... was taking him out during carnival here in germany for one day, and all the kids loved him!
What I did:
- stripped off all the old fur
- took apart the jawjoints, because the whole lower jaw was crooked
- glued the jawjoints to the resinbase again so the jaw is pretty lined up again and moving swiftly
- no more funfoam eyes, they looked kinda ugly after a time... got nice and clean resineyes from KegawaCreation ( http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kegawacreation/ ) with my own design for his eyes
- added nice long ears which are now hotglued to the resinbase, so no "folding flat to the head" ears anymore (happened a lot before with the old ears, that was the main reason he was wearing his goggles, not just because it looks kinda cool)
- some design changes, more darkbrown fur now on his head (only because I didn't have enough lightbrown fur, like I said before, I used some furscraps I still had around here)
- completely new and handsewn fur
- apoxie sculpt lips and eyelids (first time using this kind of stuff, it's amazing to work with)
- drybrushed details
- trimmed with a machine, not with scissors
It's still the old DVC small feline resinbase (around 4 years or more) but it's still doing a great job.
I like him much more now, and finally I don't have two fields of vision anymore, so I can finally estimate how far away objects are, or how far deep down it goes on stairs (this was a huge problem with him, I always felt like I'm half blind)
ps: he still wears his pilotgoggles outside, couldn't get him to leave it behind ;)

Indeed it was... I was sitting here, the head on my lap, ready with the scissors and knife... and couldn't bring myself to set the first cut for like 15 minutes... xD
and while cutting off all the fur I constantly said to him "I'm sorry! but you will look much better after all, I promise!"
But he would have needed a lot more repairs if he still had his old fur... it wasn't my best work at all four years ago

I reused a foam base once... with my very first fursuit I got a foam base from a friend, who couldn't need it, and I glued some very cheap plush-fur on it...later I ordered more high quality fur and refurbished the head... but after a while the foam base showed too much signs of wearing, so I retired it.
And yes, I fixed some huge mistakes I did on Styx four years ago, like the thing with the "two-fields-of-vision"... one for each eye, they didn't cross so I had no 3D vision, and was kinda helpless in suit with stairs and avoiding obstacles. Now it's waaay better x3
This was how he looked before... more like a kitten I think, at least much younger than now with the realistic look. He did grow up.

Oh wow, I see. He sure became a handsome big cat now :) I've always preffered more realistic looking suits tbh. Then you're like a real life anthro cat walking around. I've always been scared of the idea of suiting at carnaval events tough,with all the confetti,sprays,beer and well.. dunk people :P

I got a compliment at the carnival from some random person xD he said "the illusion that there's actually a real cat-human-hybrid running around is nearly perfect!"
Didn't meet much drunk people, I stayed near a police station where mostly families with children were, so no aggressive drunkies ;)
No, actually not anymore. I stayed inactive in the fandom for some time, and I don't have the money to go to eurofurence anymore... was there while it was still in Magdeburg 3 times in a row, but after the location changed to Berlin it got too expensive. I don't have much friends left in the furry fandom and always kinda felt out of place at EF... seemed like no one likes to interact with people who can't afford to commission a well known fursuitbuilder... I even got cut out of a video someone made... every other scene was in there, but when I interacted with the fursuiters, it never showed up in the final video, but they were still recording...
