It's rare I get to design a creature from the ground up. It made the drawing process actually a lot more fun, drawing something from my own mind rather than try to replicate a character already established. Granted, the commissioner had a lot of influence, as I was trying to capture the creature from his imagination, but even so, coming up with a bunch of sketches for a multitude of possibilities prior to the final project was really fun.
