Have you ever been tempted by "real media" programs like Painter and Art Rage?

Thanks! I actually didn't think I did hands well at all, and figured I needed practice. I've been so damned timid about real media and stuff - any suggestions for how to get into it, gently?

Well, I met with  Twll and he showed off a Wacom Cintiq with Art Rage as the program of choice and I was rather smitten with it. I downloaded the demo, it's only $25 or so, so not a crushing investment like Corel Painter, but the demo is so limited (only one layer) that hard to gauge how much use you would make of it seriously if you got the full version! It's obviously limited compared with a professional tool like Photoshop, but I thought it would make me more comfortable with digital media and might make me more likely to go and try more colouring in Real Media as well.

The thing is, paints merge together and colours mix as a preset. I find it hard to "think in layers" as Photoshop requires, so I was kind of curious to know if you had similar troubles! xD

Durn impressive work. You do a good mix of human and wolf shapes; they don't look like people with animal heads, nor like wolves on two feet, but like a thing of their own.
