Ugh, that super bowl staaank. And not because it was a game between two division rivals of the Chargers and the Saints, but it just...lacked zazz. I'm not a huge fan of amazingly defensive games (though Jenna is) because it just makes you feel like...how the heck did THIS team make it this far...
Anywhoo, props to the Broncos and the Panthers, was really hoping Manning would retire right there after winning, but noooo he had to be a putz and shill for beer and Papa Johns instead. Way to ruin the moment, Five-head! And Cam, I know losing stinks but you played your heart out. Brush yourself off, put that smile back on your face, and hopefully retire from football during the off season so the Saints can have the division title again. Seeing you hand off those touchdown balls to the kids was nice, but yeah, seriously you can retire.
AND EFF YOU Marshawn Lynch for retiring during the FOURTH QUARTER OF A SUPERBOWL. Damn Seahawks just have to always make it allll about them, don't they?

Why is it that nobody appreciates dominant defensive performances? XD What Denver did (and Seattle 2 years ago did against Denver) is freaking insane, especially considering how the current rules absolutely favor offense. When a squad comes out and absolutely destroys a dominant offensive unit, I think that makes for a spectacular game. (I say this as a Denver fan who has seen his dominant offense team destroyed in not one, not two, but three Super Bowls in the past). Props to Carolina's defense as well for keeping their team in the game up until late in the fourth quarter.
Imo, huge scores don't make an exciting game (basketball, I'm looking at you...), it's seeing a team effort prevail against a stout defense and fight hard for every score. Just makes every point sweeter. :) Points should be a cause for massive celebration, not just waiting for your turn to score the next point and decide the game by who has the ball last.

Honestly, for me, it will always be the commercials I remember about this game. Not gonna lie, I don't follow sports, but yay for those who do, but the game even sounded "eh" to me from what I've heard of, kind of a damp firecracker and not the capstone to a season's of games. That's just me talking, I get that I don't get football, that's just how it sounded to me. But the commercials… just… WHAT?!?! The ones I've seen all seem to have been designed around "what will get people talking about us on twitter and giffing us?" Because, yeah, nothing makes me want to chug a freaking mountain dew more than THAT monstrosity. Lady Gaga sang lovely, though, and Beyonce was nice.
I love seeing great defense, makes me think of how football started thought is a little boring when two teams with great defense play, but that's real football in my opinion even if a tad boring to watch.
