This is the raw artwork I am using for my new ebook, The Tears of Medusa. My goal was to show Medusa as a sympathetic character, rather than a terrifying monster. The design borrows a lot from the art of Alphonse Mucha, with a special emphasis on Mucha's flair for making long hair look alive. The finished artwork was created in Flash, using Mucha's style and color-palette with shading created in a way that mimics an air-brush look. The background was created in photoshop, with some back-lighting to give it a neon quality, while the serpent coils and overall lighting was done in 3D Studio MAX. The final cover (Which I will also include so you can get a comparison between the raw and finished art) is narrower to fit the Amazon Kindle format, but the actual art is wider in case I need to make another cover using a wider field. Thanks for looking!
BTW, Here is the link to the book on Amazon. Thanks.
