This is a model I built of a chakat hand-paw. This is the model with the paw palm up and the fingers closed. This is the maximum closure with the design.

I though I had uploaded these a long time ago. These were taken back in October 2007. I had decided back then to build a model of a chakat hand-paw as I was curious. I wanted to know what kind of size the paw would be and possible dexterity of the hand-paw.

This is based off a combination of human hand and cat paw bone structure. If you know the structure of cat's paws, the end metacarpal with the claw is not included on this as it was too complicated for a simple model. This does have all the other regular structures for the bones. Unfortunately, I am unable to locate my old working for this any more so I don't know the exact working.

The entire length from wrist connection to end of the middle finger is around 45cm long. This is made from balsa wood.

Unfortunately time was not good to this and I had to throw it away about a year ago. The plasticine had too much oil in it and it was falling apart.
