Lengthy description and extreme nerdiness incoming, those who fear such things, run and hide now!
Ji'zharak
Age: Unknown
Breed: Cathay
Primary weapon: Destruction magic
Secondary Weapon: Conjured weaponry and Daedra
Due to his less muscular frame, and his experiences in the past, Ji'zharak is very light on his feet, able to avoid blows from most opponents, making him a far more combat effective mage than most, who are too stiff or inexperienced in close quarters combat. In addition, this makes him very effective at sneaking, able to move quickly through the shadows without heavy clunking armour making any noise.
Backstory
Ji'zharak was the youngest of several siblings, living under the same roof in a home outside of Rawl'kha, in Elsweyr. Ignored by his kin, who saw him as just another mouth to feed, Ji'zharak spent his childhood in loneliness. His father and mother had him prepare food and clean every corner before he could even write or read. Many attempts to run away led to him being caught by a sibling, and being punished harshly.
One point in his teenage years, one harsh punishment, finally broke him. He began to feel something in his hand, a fire. Having never witnessed, never mind used, magic before, the flame frightened the young khajiit. A knocked over candle and a panicked flailing of the arm later, the house was on fire. In the middle of the panic as the family escaped the building, he ran off, knowing he would be killed for this.
Finding his way into Cyrodiil, Ji'zharak found himself taken in by bandits. With them, he learned how to at least hold a sword, and to use a bow with some accuracy. Still traumatized by his past, he never used magic at this time. While he initially enjoyed taking out his lifetime of anger on strangers on the roads, he knew it was wrong, that he could do better. Eventually, he ran again, this time, headed for Skyrim.
He found companionship in the Khajiit caravans, who took him in as long as he did his part in protecting the group. One encounter, with his life in serious danger, forced Ji'zharak to use his magic once again. While he trembled at the flashbacks of his family, the Khajiit told him not to waste his natural gift. They gave him some supplies and told him to head to Winterhold, where he could learn to use magic effectively.
The events after his arrival, the opening of magical rifts throughout Skyrim and stopping Ancano from harnessing the Eye of Magnus, Ji'zharak is offered the role of Arch-Mage, which he accepts, only to later abandon, preferring the college be left in Tolfdir's capable hands. Finding studious life too dull for his liking, Ji'zharak left the college, and set out to adventure and live as a sellsword... or spellsword, to put his new found mastery of the arcane to the test against what Skyrim, and all of Tamriel, has to offer.
Personality
Ji'zharak is a kind and humble Khajiit, sensitive to the troubles of others due to his past. While it is long behind him, having created a new life for himself, his past will never be forgotten. While he shows no instability normally, in combat he is driven by his past and hatred, taking pleasure in making the suffering of wrongdoers last, in seeing the life leave the eyes of those who have harmed/wronged him. His ability to alternate between these personalities quickly, as well as his choice of friendships in even the most mentally backwards of people, lead to a questioning of just how in control and stable he truly is.
He is known to be an avid alchemist, brewing many potions of different qualities and traits, even if just to sell them all. He is also fond of crafting jewellery and soul gem collection, taking the souls of those he kills, as a hobby.
This guy is my first, and favourite, elder scrolls character, whom was also my first drawing posted online, years ago, in a different appearance... aerialgeoduck75.deviantart.com…
Yeah... a lot has changed, and I haven't dared attempt to draw him for a long time, until a recent conversation made me finally try again. This was just a sketch, and as a result, I'm not that fussed over amazing quality. I'm just glad to draw him again.
