While walking into the hospital (not for me, but for someone else; don't worry, it's not serious =P ) I noticed tall stalks of bamboo in planters about the parking lot (fancy place, heh). I was thinking up a sequel to Dreamworks's "Kung Fu Panda" at the time, and long story short, came up with this fellow.

He doesn't have a name or any real background, only a single concept: he has magical bamboo-growing powers. With an enchanted jug of water on one hip, and a deep bag of bamboo seeds on the other, he runs about East Asia with no real goal in mind. He's just a wanderer. He does, however, do good deeds and slay evil when needed, aided by his ability to sprout bamboo in a matter of seconds, and utilize the sprouts for various means.
