While rare, both greater and lesser runners are capable of breeding with one another. The offspring are healthy and functional, often expressing the dominant traits of one of their parents. Too small to fraternize with greater runners, but big enough to bully lessers, many choose to pair off in duos - either hunting together and establishing a territory, or taking over the territories of creatures weaker than them.

Golden hybrid (lesser dominant): Greater runners are prone to a bizarre skin condition that renders their flesh a metallic yellow-gold. Whether this is caused by a defect in pigment or some sort of parasitic symbiote is unknown, but this specimen has inherited it from one of its parents. Its lesser genes are also outwardly visible, leaving it covered in a pleasant coat of white fur.

Pure hybrid (greater dominant): Hairless and lithe, this creature has taken after its greater parent, expressing sail-like hoods on its ribs and neck. Its tail is also a bit of an odd mix between the two species, but its balance does not suffer for it. Rather imposing and equipped with long sickle-claws, this beast is not to be underestimated.
