I don't even know how that translation came about. Then again how do you get "pug" from "tonberry?" It's a dragon thing, with a kind of Indian sounding name, that looks like a coatl. Wut. I'll just put it as Dragon/ other.

Nope, it was spelled correctly. You can read about the origin of the term here.
I think the name thing is because Valigarmanda is an ungodly long and confusing name. Tritoch however, kinda points out the 'three element' effect it uses on ya when ya face it both times. I'm sure there's something else, but I can't bloody remember it. Oh yeah! the name itself is derived from 'Cockatrice'. Which coincidentally... Tritoch resembles. XD
