Stuck… both her hind hooves were stuck! Stuck inexplicably in the soil and grass contained in a dark, shiny pot. Her head was swimming dizzily, mere seconds before she had been perusing the shelves of strange and almost pony shaped bonsai trees at a quaint little shop just outside of Vanhoover… in a flash of unexpected magic her world had gone black, finding herself in her current predicament thereafter.
Saga blinks, glancing around… she was still in the shop, and yet everything was different. Not only had her vantage point changed, but the scale of all the trees and shelves around her had shifted. They were HUGE! She quickly found herself distracted from her new point of view by a crawling sensation creeping over her hind hooves, moving into an itching discomfort.
Her eyes dart down to see them sinking further into the soil, the fur around them fading from pistachio green to a rich brown. A rough texture followed, seeping upward from the soil- she reached a hoof down to touch it and was met with the feeling of bark beneath her hoof! A pulling sensation overcame her hind legs as they began to twist and distort, fusing together from her hooves up and filling the space between with that unusual bark.
Before the mare could do anything to resist or tug herself free from the soil a magical force grabbed her torso, twisting her into a bent but upright fashion and pulling her hooves upward and apart toward the sky. She winced as she felt her spine go rigid and firm, locking her pose as the sheath of bark rose ever upward, over her belly and chest. It confined her breath as if she were being squeezed in a rigid tube of wood before she found herself without the ability to even draw breath.
She bucked and squirmed, the sound of creaking wood with her movements meeting her ears. The bark marched further, enveloping her in entirety below her head and over her forelimbs and hooves, body below now more of a trunk than a pony. Try as she might, she couldn’t budge even a fraction of a centimeter in her barky body.
The mare’s eyes widen in shock as he fore-hooves suddenly split apart, branching outward as tiny leaves sprouted in along the twigs that formed in her new branches. Only moments later they fleshed out, sprouting more and more leaves until Saga found herself shaded by her own new canopy.
Saga turns her head slightly to get a look at her situation only to find her neck suddenly rigid as her body, a woody creak resonating from the last of her movement. The bark slipped up over her chin and mouth, welding her lips shut behind it as her whole snout and face quickly followed suit. Her mane and tail turned leafy as well, the mare’s eyes now the only thing left, which went wooden too- as was inevitable.
She found herself staring forward from the pot, unable to blink, unable to move, but still able to hear, feel, and think… she felt her roots digging deeper and deeper into the soil from what had once been her hind hooves, soaking up the potted nutrients and moisture. The light on her leaves tingled and filled her with a strange happiness. It was only just now dawning on her exactly what had happened, and what she had become.
Though it was out of her sight, a paper tag was situated in the soil behind her. “Slanting Juniper”, it read, labeling her new species and shape. “125 bits.”
Quite the bargain.
Another quick plant TF, really wanted to try it again after my last one! These are quite fun. Inspired by Naga's old stuff, if anyone else remembers those. XD
