This is a Jaspian Parody of a famous Barack Obama art piece that became a major symbol for his campaign and Obama's vague message of "hope" and "change", when he really never went into specifics about what we should hope for or change. Serious marketing tacticians surely realized that America as a whole is nothing but a shallow husk that can be convinced with catchy phrases and vague promises (that he never has to fulfill because they were so vague) and single-word slogans that mean nothing out of context. Reminds me of Apple - doesn't matter if it is good if it LOOKS good - all the cool people have one! STATUS SYMBOL. In this election - America was marketed... the President is nothing more than a consumer product.
... but I digress. I think Obama was a great choice despite all of the above bitching, for no other reason than to throw the Neocons out on their ear and show them that fascism will not be tolerated in America. But also - I believe that Obama will be a weak president, and that's what we need right now. We need someone that we (the public) can push around and force them to give us what we want. So much of our liberty has been taken away over the past 8 years that we should perform our own power-grab to take it all back (and then some). This can only be done against leaders without firm conviction - who's positions are swayed by public opinion - and I think Obama is that man.
But back to the artwork... for those of you who know much about art history, you noticed the resemblance to communist propaganda artwork? Why do you think the campaign chose communist-style artwork as one of their major campaign items? I don't actually have any theories, I was just curious what you all thought...
Anyway... this picture was done 100% digitally. I started out with the picture of Obama that this piece parodies and made him look fennecy (in photoshop) and just changed it little by little until he became Jaspian (or close enough to!)...
So later today is the inauguration of THE BARACK, as I shall call him, and good riddance to Bush and his twisted compatriots. I hope Obama doesn't pardon you, you traitorous war criminal. TO THE GAS CHAMBER WITH YOU!

Meh... I don't know. The only thing that he's done so far that's really bothered me is his pursuit of Carbon Taxation, which only a fraction of (less than 10%) is actually going to "green" energy. It's as-if Obama actually knows that global warming is a fraud, and so he plans to do only enough about it to save face.
The truth about Global Warming is that we have no clue. Ecologists pretty-much agree that the climate is a complete mystery even today. It is so complex that it defies even our most powerful climate models, and if we can't predict it, then we can't draw any realistic conclusions.
But I think that this is a sign of Obama's weakness. "Green" has gone from fringe to fad, and I think Obama craves popularity. He's going through with it to "be cool".
I'm also against his stimulus package, but I can't fault him. McCain would have done the same. All of the contenders from the major parties, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich aside, would probably have followed the same absurd route and gotten the same results (or lack thereof).
