Aaaaaa, do take a picture of the opal when you get a chance. I've seen a few recently that have been beautiful, but out of my price range. Last piece I picked up was a nice small ammolite :>

That's one of the features of some meteorites that I just love.

yes it does! i have two pallasite samples and both of them have the widmanstätten lines very visibly

i live in tucson so i make it a point to visit the gem show every year! i go mainly to see the fossil exhibits because im a sucker for paleontology, but usually also end up picking up at least a few rocks. some are expensive, others less so

the pallasite is the second specimen ive been able to acquire, and both pieces ive gotten are probably the most expensive rocks ive gotten thus far? the impact glass ran a close second

oooh i feel you. i got an engagement ring for one of my current partners a pretty decent time ago, but neither of us particularly care for diamonds so i went with a more artistic piece of resin and combined metals in their favorite color. i have no idea what for wedding rings though. end me.

i was born here in arizona, but grew up in florida before coming back. florida is. interesting with rocks? seeing as the majority of it is limestone formation and whatnot. arizona though, there is so much here geologically, i love it
