Honestly, prolly the only piercings I will ever get. Yesterday I wrestled up the courage to get my ears pierced! I had been thinking about it for awhile, and it feels kinda good to have them done!
They are cute, black hoops like these, one in each ear. I had them done at a tattoo and piercing shop in my mall, called Atomic. Really nice and cool people. I trusted them and their actual LISCENCE than a Claire's and their unclean gun.
It was spooky to do, but the guy did a good job of keeping me really upbeat and calm through it. It will take 6-8 weeks to heal, then I can get my first pair of fake 'gauges'! <3
They are pretty tender. But I'm making sure to wash them gently with anitbacterial hand-soap and drying them with a paper towel. c:

No problem! :D Typically ear piercings heal up well so as long as you keep them cleaned and dont pull on/bump them you should be good to go! I'm sure they already probably told you this but if they do swell up dont take your piercings out since that can cause a worse infection, just continue cleaning and the swelling should go down.

Spray and rotate your piercing a few times a day :D It helps get the crusties out too.

I used that stuff on my tattoos, but for piercings, i just used some regular gold dial, on a qtip. though, I've had my ears pierced over 20 years. XD I used dial and water for my industrial, septum, cartilage piercings, belly button and other things. I've had over 60 piercings total.
Just regular antibacterial soap, and some water, a couple times a day, is fine. XD

Funny CX my first 2 earrings were maybe 3 years ago... Maybe 2 but after a while I got a silver earing in without knowing it was silver and as I'm allergic it began to itch but I just ignored it, after the whole day I took it off at school cause it was really itchy.. Tho as I did I noticed my ear was like 4x it's thickness xD scary.. Took a day to heal but the hole healed too.. so just had 1 earring lol. And just a few days ago maybe 2 I got 2 more on the same ear ... this time it hurt WAY more then the first time xD especially the higher up one.. Still hurts but the lower one is less pain for reason CX I love them tho. I loved that pic I actually wanted to do commission like this when I was getting them pierced but.. Never got money CX and so many artists I know I wouldn't be able to decide. Lol... and yeah Claire's SUCK xD they did terrible on my cousins nose o.o total horror.. She was getting a nose one and as she punched the ring in she ripped it back out like OMFG .... The ring got stuck and she just pulled it right back out >.< making a line from the area towards the edge... Think we got everyone's attention at the mall xD screaming and all
I found out that anything costume type was terrible for me. I wore gold for years. Then found a cute little pair of earrings I just had to wear. No surgical steel or gold.
I ended up with them getting swollen and irritated, skin sloughing. My ears looked gross for a couple of days and I had to treat them like a new piercing to get them back into shape. Peroxide and twisting a simple gold stud multiple times a day.
Now I'm sticking with gold and surgical steel. =x That was the only time in like... 26 years that I had a problem with any of them. Even as a 6 year old, earring were easy things. lol

Just make sure that you twist them a bit a few times a day too. It'll keep that annoying crust from getting too stuck on.
Also!I hope they recommended surgical steel for your first earring. Don't find out if you're allergic to certain metal the hard way >_>;;

Congrats on the piercing. I know how it feels when you finally get to do something to yourself that might be painful but in the end have awesome results. I had my right arm tattooed a few years back, and while the job itself was pain, it felt great once I was done treating my soreness and it was all done :3
Awww - what an adorable picture to represent the moment. :) I don't have any myself, but my mate and her daughter certainly do (and had more in the past) so yep - just keep it clean. From time to time, it's good to put a mild Benzalkonium chloride disinfectant on the area too suck as Bactine or X3 (don't worry, it doesn't sting) just to make sure it heals up good. :)
Congrats! I love earrings also, but as I am scared of needles, it took me until I was 21 to get them done. xD And sadly, I got mine done at Claire's... they really must have a unclean gun (or their crappy cleaning solution) becuase soon after, my right ear got badly infected and turned REALLY bad. :\ At least with help with another solution from the doctors after visiting them, it cleared the infection up and healed really well after. But yeah, it was not a plesent experience to go though and hurt like hell. x3 But at least all has been fine since, and love it! And happy you have got yours done too! :D
It looks great on Tartii! :D
You say this is your only one -now-, but just look how adorable Hensa made nose piercings: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16679935/

Congrats on the piercings and cute art! :D
Getting any kind of piercing at a professional tattoo/piercing place is always a good idea. The first two times I got my ears pierced I went to a cheap place like Claires. Got infected both times and had major ear sensitivity. After a few years of not wearing earrings I went to a very nice professional tattoo parlor and got them done again. No infection. No sensitivity. <3
