Yes, there was a "test one", but it was even worse than this take a couple weeks back, and I was seriously fighting my RL music studio equipment. Oh, there were fights today, too...don't ever, EVER buy a Blackstar amp, they're cheap pieces of shit you can actually brick...but overall, I learned some things from the last time, and I didn't even bother to run this through noise reduction like I did the first take. Basically, I'm trying to get the actual "recording" part of the "recording studio" down, using an OP-1 synth as it's meant to be used, like a virtual 4-track recorder. Getting the audio in and out and laying down successive tracks involved me hooking up a separate amp (hence that Blackstain...er, star), and I wound up using a teeny tiny 6" amp that came with a cheap guitar set instead. Lesson learned -- no more "smart" amps, fuck that noise. Literally. The thing was all SSSSSSSSS just turned on with everything down and nothing plugged in, that's why I was trying to 'update the firmware' on it. BRICK'D!
Anyway, the main line and analog percussion provided by a Korg Monotribe, all pattern sequenced in, with me fiddling a couple knobs, on track one. Track two is stuff from a Novation Ultranova, and track three was a patch from a Roland GAIA-1, both of those tracks hand played (poorly). I just tried out a couple things, figured Blue could tell me which sections he liked and then could make a loop of it.
Oh, right, I guess I should say: this is for a strategy "totally not like Axis and Allies" game in BlitzMAX that Blue is working on. I'd put a link to his FA account when I say Blue, but I'm too lazy to figure out how. :) His game is about being some kinda evil supervillain doing heists and fighting the law (the thumbnail icon is cut from his graphics). And this music is supposed to be for "combat".
