understand that fun to keep the otter in focus while gettign the background most of my stuff is done for fun

sometimes we have to take what we can get. I hate to think how many hours of footage the BBC shot for Planet Earth and their other recent documentaries

Likely find they reuse a lot of it from older ones too.

Unlikely for the recent ones as they were done in HD but not impossible

Depth of field comes from high f-stops and wide lenses.

Mind you, this image is stronger for having the background out of focus. It limits attention to the foreground image, (the otter), which is what you want.
