At what expense? There's a line where "security" is not worth the price paid for it. There's a reason why the right to bear arms is the Second Amendment, not the First. Our forefathers were right to value the freedom to speak their minds about the government above the freedom to self-defense. A society where I can't talk freely or even make a stupid joke without looking over my shoulder and worrying about secret police taking me away in the middle of the night is not worth any illusions of protection against a group of boogeymen who struck us what, three times in the last twenty years? I value liberty over security, however the 2nd amendment goes with the 1st amendment; "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. " - Jefferson. The second amendment allows the citizen to ensure their liberties are not exploited by criminals, the petty kind or government kind.

True, that's why we can't really touch the Constitution. Not because it's somehow "perfect," it's just that we'd be hard pressed to improve on the legalez on it.

That's alright, you have a right to voice your opinion on something and you shouldn't apologize for it. If I could draw, I'd probably have done something similar :P No one would want to be right about that kind of thing, but it's better to know the truth than to live in ignorance. I don't think we ever really know what we are doing... all we can do it listen to both sides and -try- to pick the right side. I think many people were blinded by 'omg not another old man! Well, people tend to have trouble accepting other's opinions, so that's not too uncommon. It's funny, I didn't really see McCain as being another Bush. He was, and I hate to sound cliche, a maverick. You've definetely made a friend out of this ^_^ *shakes paw* Forgiven and forgotten.

See, this is kind of the whole point. It's not about doing a better job than you, or I, or any other average random person could do. It's about doing the kind of job that only the smartest and most capable people in the whole dang country could do -- i.e., the kind of people we're supposed to be putting in office. Trust me, very few of our Presidents have ever lived up to that. Probably because so many of us are content to say that our Presidents did a better job running the country than we could. We need higher standards.

And you're thinking Obama is that 'smart person' he was certainly not the kind of person that is 'supposed' to be in office, not by your standards you have just stated my friend. We DO need higher standards that we settled for Obama >.>

I love how I make a general statement about how we pick leaders and you somehow interpret it as the words of a die-hard Obama cultist. I was just saying "he did a better job than I could" is a terrible reason to defend someone in a position of power. If Obama screws us over, and somebody defends him saying "he did a better job than I could," you better believe I'll put up the red flag again.

Geeze, I wish people would deal with it already instead of complaining. We haven't even seen him accomplish anything and already most of our country is "OMG We R G2 HELLZ!" or "OMG We R gunna pray r harts out LOL". If I'm remembering correctly from my days as a hard core bible thumper, isn't it God's plan that certain things happen? Why are we praying for something else then? Are the people not satisfied with the choice of God? Yes, we have free will to make a choice, but ultimately all of those choices are destined by God for certain things to happen in a particular way- may it be to teach the nation or to better it.
To me, he seems like a great man willing and ready to slowly make our country what it used to be- something to be proud of. I'd rather have him in office then see wolf murdering Sarah Palin. People are counting their chickens before they hatch and assuming PRESIDENT OBAMA is going to fuck up this country- if you can fuck up this country more than it already is (courtesy of George Bush ) I'll eat my hat. I think he is going to be the one to really bring change and if you don't like it, then you have that freedom to sit on your ass, draw your generic and unoriginal TLK lions, and complain about it rather than accept the change and see what he can do.

I has always been okay to protest the government. The beauty of the free world. I didn't agree with everything Bush did as I agree with nothing that Obama is doing/planning on doing.

I wanted to ^_^ How old was I though? Can I just up and leave my parents house way back at age 11? 12? 13? 14? 15? 16? 17? 18? I couldn't do it at 18 because I lacked the funds. I took up a semester of a worthless major, then went out into the work force to bust it as a construction worker to try and get by.

Presidents do not rule the country of US, no. The real leaders are neocons or other secret organisations ruled by bank system, but politics in US are just a theater, nothing can be changable. Presidents only can speak with other leaders, but they have no power to do anything in their own country.

As for "save America' statement, I think the only thing that can save it it's own people, if they will finaly realise for what America leads it way... Why does US needs more wars and spreading it's idielogy to other countries and supporting evil dictators like Ukraine presidet Ushinko and Georgian leader Sakashvily.

Economy won't be saved, if millitary budjed won't be lowered. US uses 40% of all world recources and gives only 20%, it is a big disbalance what makes America to go bankrapt.
