Excerpts of Carpe Diem: Kevin Meets the Parents
This is a panel from issue 12, and it's by the ever so talented
knuxlight! So this, I figure a story teaser would be fun.

<So does he always expose his body to anyone like some tawdry calendar model?> Burt's mother asked him in her native language. She squinted over at the tall, built tiger who walked into the house, shirtless, exposing his chest to the world. Though she did admit to herself it was quite the well sculpted chest. His stomach was flat and tones, and the way the muscled moved...well, it reminded her of her husband back in the days of their careless, misspent youth.
<And how would you know about calendar models, mother?> replied Burt in the same language. He didn't use it often, except for when he spoke to his mother, but it flowed from his tongue like a fine wine.
Kevin stood there, tilting his head as he listened to Burt. He didn't recognize the language, but it sounded like one of those anime shows he saw on television one day. "Did you just speak Japanese, Burt?"
Burt looked over at Kevin, a hint of a smirk on his muzzle. "Japanese? Try Mandarin Chinese."
Kevin's eyebrows raised up slightly. "Yer bilingual? I didn't know that." Kevin found that made his insides tingle, like when him and Burt were once naked in the laundry room and...
...no, he couldn't bring up that memory. Not in front of Burt's parents! It was bad enough that Burt's mom was staring at him like he was a kid who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar when he was told it'd spoil his appetite.
"It is only fair," Burt's mother said in slightly accented English, "I did not know my son had a man living with him." For a moment Kevin thought that the introduction had already gone downhill until the smaller panda warmly smiled up at Kevin. "Shall we trade stories to embarrass my son until he begs for our forgiveness?" She saw why Burt was with this Kevin. The tiger was proud, but it disguised the gentler nature underneath.
Kevin released a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding, feeling more relaxed. "Yup, yer Burt's ma, all right."
Burt shook his head, smirking. "And you wonder why I never told you about Kevin, Momma."

Cute. :3 Burt's mom reminds me of... *quick google* Anita Mui in "Legend of Drunken Master." Quick wit = <3. (Quick recommendation? Mentioning that they're speaking Chinese in the first paragraph is a bit redundant; personally think it sounds better if the first mention is when Burt corrects Kevin. Just IMO, tho ^^)
*laughs* Would it be too cheeky of me too say he looks like a kitten in this one!? Hurr! *coughs* A slightly buff one at that but... ya get me anyway!
Love the story too! I know I only just found ya the last day but I found The Carpe Diem comic a while ago! Hurr! Ya have no idea how disappointed I was that I couldn't find it for a while! *holds his thumbs up* Great job Buddy!
