
The Beech 1900C-1 F-GPYY, c/n UC-115 built and delivered in June 1990 and registered in September 1996. It's operate by the French company Atlas Atlantic Airlines , based on the airport of Nantes, as a light transport aeroplane (18 seats), as a sanitary aircraft or as a transport aircraft. It can be use for medical evacuations between North Africa and Europe or as a funerary carrier. When I took this photo, it was certainely empty and was used for the training of a new Beech 1900 pilot as it did several touch & go. I also caught, on the same day, a C-160 Transal but the photos are not good enough for be shared.
The Beechcraft 1900 is a regional trasport aircraft powered by two turboprop Pratt & Whitney Canada of 1 279hp. It was built in four different variants, the 1900A or just 1900 (3 exemple) whose only one served actively, it's the UA-3 which served in the Escuadrón de Ejecutivos 310 of the Bolivian Air Force until its crash in December 2011. The 1900C variant, whose the exemple firstly received the c/n UB-___ (74 exemples) and then, when a system of wet wings was added, UC-___ (174 exemples) whose 6 sevre in the US Air Force under the name of 1900C-12J and which has the marketing name of King Air ExecLiner. The last variant, the 1900D, it's one of the only two light carrier aircrafts were most people don't have to bend forward for walk through the fusealge, it's also the most popular variant of the Beech 1900 with 439 exemples built and used by some Air Forces and by civilian Airlines.
On the 695 aircrafts built between 1982 and 2002, 21 Beech 1900 were destroyed in air crashes and at least 155 exemples are currently serving in several Governemental organisation such as Air Forces or National Polices.
