So it's been some time since I last uploaded something, and I felt this would be a good piece to upload (although I finished it over a month ago). This was yet another practise piece that I did, this time of a character of mine I created for an RP with
tjamanarlong and
tails230. The origins of this character are a bit well...unusual xD You see, initially, she was an egg I hatched on my Pokemon Emerald game, when I was playing it over back in 2010 (on a save file I'd created back in 2008/2009 xD), and well...as you can guess, was forgotten, along with several other characters at that time xD Upon rediscovery, I planned to use her in an RP with those two, and from there, her story takes off ^^
Sina herself has a long history, just going to say that. But I've got time ^^ so let me indulge you for a bit. Grab yourself a chair, and get set. x3
Our story takes place over three-thousand years ago, on a remote continent called "Vajra" (yes, we know it's an actual word xD we just felt like using that), hidden in mists far off in the oceans beyond the sea. On the continent there existed a village filled with Eevees of every type! (We are also considering hybrids in this village x3) The Eevees were tasked with the special order of guarding what was called the Crystal of Creation, a beautiful gem created by Arceus in order to preserve the order of the world. But why Eevees, you might ask? Well, it was for a multitude of reasons really. One reason in particular was that unlike most other Pokemon, Eevees started off not pertaining to any particular element, however they were capable of evolving into one of many different elements (or a hybrid of two elements as mentioned). Because of this, Arceus looked upon the Eeveelutions race with favour, and tasked them with protecting and guarding the crystal. The crystal itself stood for all that lived in existence, from the smallest plant to the greatest of beasts. All life came from this crystal, and upon each life's passing would return back to the crystal, only to be born again. This made the crystal very important, and tasking it to the unbiased race of Eeveelutions seemed to be a wise choice.
In the village there existed the head shaman of the village--a powerful ruler whose ability to channel the elements made him respected and trusted among the Eeveelutions of the village. With him were his wife and his Eevee pup daughter, named Narcy. Narcy was a very curious creature, and made many friends among her peers, which included Sina. While the other Eevee and Eeveelution friends of hers were as equally playful as she was, the one friend who stood out from the rest was Sina, the adopted Eevee of the village whose parents remained unknown. The Eevee watched over and guided Narcy with the kindness and understanding of an older sister, and together the two developed a close bond as sister-like friends. In the years that followed, Narcy's responsibilities grew as her father and mother grew older, just as she did. Times grew tense, and Narcy felt uncomfortable about taking the role as head shaman someday, and would slide off with her friends into the forests that surrounded the beautiful tribal village. One day however, all was about to change when Narcy's father, the head shaman, grew ill and was eventually laid down to rest in a peaceful grave. Her mother then resumed responsibilities, and Narcy again felt the pressure of growing to be the new shaman one day. Sina comforted her and reassured her that in the end, she would grow to be a wonderful leader, and did all she could to guide her.
Several months passed. The neighbouring empires that surrounded the peaceful village grew closer, and messengers were sent out to demand control of the crystal. The four empires were guided by four powerful rulers: Ignatius of the Eastern empire, Valencia of the Northern empire, Gordok of the Western empire, and Harmony of the Southern empire. The empires each held their own reasons for wanting the crystal, but all in the end were selfish reasons that demanded no quarter. Narcy's mother refused. The empires then gave threat to the village, demanding that if the crystal were to be handed over, their village would be spared from the tides of war. Still her mother refused, and the Eevee village prepared themselves for the onslaught that was to come. War broke out, and the four empires competed for the crystal, more often attacking one another rather than the villagers themselves. Still the Eeveelutions tribe attempted to preserve the crystal, but their numbers were slowly dying, as each one felled meant another life lost, another element lost to the shadows, and one fewer warrior to protect the village. Narcy's mother soon grew ill, just as her father did, and died of fatigue and exhaustion in protecting the village. Narcy, now age 14, was to take up the role as the village's leader and protect the crystal as her ancestors had done in the years past. Uncomfortable with assuming the responsibilities, Narcy had no choice but to take over. The war continued on, Narcy afraid of all the fighting that took place. It made her uncomfortable and scared, frightened and worried for her people. The village was dying, and soon there were few lives left who could protect the crystal. In her frustration, Narcy destroyed the crystal, shattering it to thousands of tiny shards, each of which became scattered in all directions across the continent. The once proud Eevee village was now dead. The warring empires then began to accuse one another, and war broke out again in the destruction of the four armies. Heartbroken and torn, Narcy made a prayer, wishing Arceus to have mercy on the Pokemon, and to bring back into the hearts of the armies the memories of serenity and peace, a time without worries or problems. She only wished that peace would bring back the Pokemon of the four armies to their senses, and end the senseless war. To her surprise, her wish had been granted, as a warming light filled the battlefield the Pokemon fought upon, and each Pokemon grew confused of their purpose in the war, and felt the feelings of peace. The four armies then gathered their dead, and soon departed, never to be heard from again.
Narcy never saw her friends following the war. To her understanding, those that survived had either remained at the site of the village ruins, or departed elsewhere for a better life. There remained no trust or love in the world, and an emptiness filled Narcy's heart.
From here ends Narcy's story. Sina's story branches from the moment the war reached its end.
Sina survived the war. The war had caused great stress to the Eevee, but she had managed to survive by keeping herself protected and helping the sick and injured as much as possible. The war caused her heart to beat irregularly, and at times the Eevee would feel suffocated under the weight of stress. But, soon before her, a mysterious Pokemon appeared, calling itself Celebi.
"Your time of need is not here, little one... Arceus has a great plan, but to do so, it is needed that you be brought to a different time..."
Heeding the message, Sina departed with Celebi to a time unknown to her kind; a world so far into the future that story had turned to history, history turned to legend. Legend had turned to myth, and soon the times of war had long been forgotten. More than three-thousand years passed since that day, and the young Eevee found herself in a world unlike any other. Pokemon living in advanced villages, with roads, signs, commerce--all the makings of bustling and busy settlement. The Pokemon were varied, more than a hundred different varieties or more lived in any one village she visited! It became apparent to her that the time Celebi needed her in was far ahead into the future than she'd anticipated! Nobody even knew of an Eevee Village, or of the events that had transpired. The few who did misunderstood the story greatly, and thus Sina witnessed how times change facts and history.
But, Sina's heart began to trouble her. Travel through time had caused her heart's condition to worsen, and Sina found herself struggling to breathe, paralyzed by her condition. Fearing her own death, Sina panicked, and worried that her time in need was about to be in vain, when a certain Pokemon watching her from the sidelines approached her.
"Your name is Sina, if I'm not mistaken?" The Pokemon was a Darkrai, the Nightmare Pokemon.
"You appear to be fearing for your life... It shouldn't have to be this way... Nobody should ever have to fear their own death... Death is just a part of the cycle, isn't it? We are all subject to our time here on this planet, and so too are we bound to one day return to the very source that granted us the life we were so privileged to live. It's only fair, isn't it...?"
Sina grew worried, as her condition worsened.
"You feel as though you were dealt a poor hand, don't you. You feel as though life cheated you, giving you a failing heart when your purpose to Arceus is so..."great." What kind of god would allow his own Pokemon to suffer? What kind of Pokemon would force you to live in pain and uncertainty, not knowing what is about to come or when your life will come to an end? What sort of monster would grant you a false promise and deny you the comfort of a good home, a good life, a good..."anything?" I will tell you... The very god that watches over all of us in this wretched realm, that which is called "Arceus.""
Sina worried that the creature before her was intended on causing her harm, and felt fear taking over her. Darkrai only laughed at her, and brought a false sense of security. Quickly, his hand entered into her chest, and Sina felt a stinging feeling as the life in her body became sapped, and the darkness taking over. Upon reawakening, the Eevee found herself alive and well, with Darkrai watching over her.
"Rest now, my child... Your life is now safe in the hands of Giratina. But don't be alarmed...Giratina isn't as bad as what Pokemon may make him out to be... Trust me child, for I am a creation of his. I granted you life! I brought you away from that wretched life and granted you a new one! Look here! See this crystal? This crystal belongs here, in the Realm of Chaos! The Distortion World!"
Sina recalled hearing about the Distortion World. A world unlike ours, the Distortion world or Realm of Chaos was a world that was believed to encircle the Pokemon world, consisting of anti-matter that surrounded and gave form to the universe outside of creation. It was a staple part of existence, as without it Creation would have no form, but too much of it and Creation would no longer exist. It was a delicate balance, held together by the Crystal of Chaos, as some came to call it. Far from evil, the crystal only served the purpose of protecting and enforcing the Distortion World in the same way the Crystal of Creation did to the world of all life. It was only the intentions behind its use that governed whether it was to be used for good, or for evil.
"Look upon yourself, Sina! For I have given you a new heart! A heart powered by the crystal, and one that will never falter! Your life is as safe and secure as one could ever be, without the fear of being dead! But, in order to make up for this promise, there is but one task Master Giratina has to request of you. You are to gather shards of the Crystal of Creation... It has been thousands of years, but already we have gathered nearly enough to complete its restoration. Upon its completion, we will be able to produce a world of our own, and make it in Master Giratina's image. And all you have to do is to take back the one piece Master Giratina needs most...
The crystal piece belonging to Narcy..."
Sina was given the task of taking a large piece of the crystal away from her former friend. When the crystal had been destroyed, Narcy carried a large shard with her around her neck. Now departing, Sina worried about her friendship with her friend, and the deal made with Darkrai... But, fearing for her life, Sina pushed forward, and attempted to make contact with her friend.
The contact went over very well, and Sina was well-received by her former friend. Narcy it seemed had lived three-thousand years, but the crystal had kept her alive the entire time. In the years that recently passed, a spell created by a former alchemist allowed her to remain immortal and forever young, the spell believing to have been designed by Ignatius himself. But the years had given Narcy wisdom, and in her eyes she could sense the fear and distrust behind her once-mentor's eyes. The sister-like figure of Sina was now a pawn to the enemy, and a future threat to Narcy. Several attempts Sina made to take the crystal, even after having been given great powers by Darkrai via the crystal itself. What Narcy could do with her shaman magic was comparable to the magic granted to Sina with the Crystal of Chaos. The battle continued through several sessions, but each time Sina fled having felt guilty of her actions. Darkrai warned her that he had spared her life, and that given this she should be more grateful and determined to gain that last piece of crystal. Unleashing the powers of Chaos, Sina created an army of Distortions--creatures that resembled living things but possessed neither heart, soul, nor form. Lifeless and meaningless otherwise, the Distortions served only the great Giratina to gain pieces of the crystal, and were granted to Sina to use in battle against her former friend.
A terrible battle broke out, reminiscent of the war over three-thousand years ago... Narcy and her newly-formed family of recent years against Sina and her Distortion army... The two were nearly evenly matched, although Narcy had years of experience over her still-seventeen year old friend. Sina, defeated in battle, fell to the ground exhausted from a strike by Narcy. Darkrai, the great servant of Giratina, soon appeared, and in spite of Sina went on to attacking Narcy. His powers were great, and innumerable, making it near impossible for Narcy to defend his every blow. Sina regained her strength, but only long enough to see Darkrai preparing a threatening blow to Narcy, and lunged herself at Darkrai, snagging the Crystal of Creation he'd taken from Narcy before dropping it, and staggering to the ground. She fell limp, and unable to move herself as she collapsed once more. In his anger, Darkrai despised her.
"How dare you, wretched thing! How dare you bite the hand of the one who spared your life! How dare you stand against me, after so many failures?! Regardless of how you feel, your actions are going to be your downfall. I truthfully never needed your help... But given that I already have both crystals now, it is time I take back a certain piece... Yours."
Again, his hand lunged into her chest, this time removing the crystal that had taken place of her heart. In an instant, Sina passed, falling to the ground in her death. The war was far from over, however... The war waged onward, with Giratina entering from the Distortion World to smite Darkrai for his turning away of Giratina. Arceus, along with the help of Palkia and Dialga, rushed forward to combat Giratina as Giratina pressed its way into the realm of the living. Arceus soon conquered, and the war was over, sealing away Giratina into the Distortion World, and sealing away the rifts that connected the two worlds, permanently closing the seal into the other realm.
Heartbroken, Narcy watched as Sina's body lay, unmoving and lifeless on the ground. Arceus understood. It truly was unfair for Sina to have been dealt the hand she had been, and took pity upon her, granting her back a new heart that would never falter or stop on her. However...for having supported Giratina and his followers in the attempted takeover of the Creation World, Arceus then banishes Sina into the Distortion World for all eternity. It was a gift passed onto her, but a punishment at the same time for assisting in the enemy's actions.
Awakening in a new world, Sina travels forth... seeking answers, seeking truths. One day she hopes she will be reunited with her former friends, and feels in her heart that her friend will forgive her. Sina now travels onward, and one day hopes she will find a way back into the Creation World. If the rifts had formed between the worlds initially without divine interference, then the worlds were intended to be connected as one, once upon a time, she felt. If that were the case, no matter how hard Arceus sealed away the Distortion World, there had to be another entrance... Sina is determined to find that entrance, and use it to return home. However...despite her new heart, she still retains all the powers granted to her from the Chaos Crystal...but, why? It is uncertain, but Sina continues her love for all other creatures, and continues her help to all creatures in that banished realm...
Will she be reunited? Only time will tell...
