Biology hadn't always been taught in "grade school" (1-7 by most people's ideas). Hell, I've got nieces and nephews barely ready to get out of their 6th/7th years, and already doing end level algebra. In my time, it was only an elective, during high school. Only took it if we wanted.
And even then, not every school deems it necessary.

Well, regardless on it being taught in grade school, it's definitely taught in high school. And where I'm from, basic biology is not optional.
Eh, I guess different countries, different school strategies, I suppose?
Just makes me sad that people don't get the same quality of education. :C

I find it cute each time I see someone discovering that, I mean, the simplest way to wonder about it is when you are served Chicken, you see their thighs starting backward then forward but on the dish, it starts forward... I wondered about that for long time until I found out myself, there was no google back then =P
Aaaaand you might get surprised when you search about Penguins too... X3

Knew that for a good while exactly because of Dinos.
Still, it is very very hard to explain to people that birds DON'T have inverted legs, and what you think it is the "reverse" knees, is in fact the heels, the knees are hidden by the side of the body, and they walk on the tip of the fingers! You see lots of "wat" eyebrowns there.
