Really just a bass test.
I really should start putting effort and thought into my music again instead of half-assed tangential nonsense like this.
This isn't very exciting, but probably a good lead-up into a more hype hardstyle/hardcore track, depending on how it's spun.

actually the bpm slightly faster than hardstyle and the bassline centered on the main kick makes this sound a lot more like jumpstyle. fast jumpstyle, but its usually a bit faster than hardstyle. doesn't stop me from digging the fuck out of it, though.
i'd jump to this any day.
or slow it down a bit and shuffle my ass off.

It generally means taking everything that's good about a certain type of music, taking the core elements... and bastardizing the hell out of it until people get sick of how saccharine it is. However, there's enough of a difference between the Nu and Old styles to differenciate the two.
It's just like what happened with Nu Style Gabba, where the formula is breakdown->build-up->anthem->breakdown. It also has those hard-popping kicks with the tail of the kick being the bassline like any of the newer Zatox or ... instead of the normal half-gabber kick and reverse-kick tail, like with Lady Dana's earlier tracks.
There is more emphasis on building up to the anthemic melody and when it happens, it's usually extravagant/cheesy.
It's pretty lame if you ask me,...like stringing together top 40 tracks or something. Each track might be great, but putting them together in a set makes them sound cheesy as fuck.

You just made me more confused I think a large majority of music-not just nu style gabba/gabber- builds-up to an "anthem", or as I understand it a chorus/bridge/"main part". It does get a lttle tiring, but never cheesy IMO. Let's just use an example: would Angerfist be nu or old?
I kind of get the bastardization thing-its the same with metal/grind-but to be honest I don't see why newer movements can't coexist with older ones. Sure, the primary principles are raped, but I think through it all a completely new deck of cards is added to the mix and as long as we know the difference it should'nt be a problem.

I see what you mean about most music using the formula, but it's usually a little more than A --> B --> C --> A where everything up to the C is unclever bullshit, which is the Nu Style formula.
The formula is frowned upon by the more pretentious artists and DJs, is what I mean. The tracks are looked at as if they're taking away from the art of building a good set without having to rely on one track doing all of the work. Of course, Nu Style tracks of every genre can be incorporated artfully, but newer DJs tend to get into it and just play these tracks without any finesse. However, there are alot of artists and DJs that take this formula and push them to the extremes or are creative with it. I mean, in the end, it's just if it sounds good and what you're doing with the music.
it's not really that important being able to differentiate the nu skool whatever. I mean, it's dance music. It's all about if you can keep a party going with it or not. The same thing goes with any dance music, like grind or rockabilly or ragga or whatever. Working with the crowd and all that shit.

Hell yeah it can get cheesy. Some tracks by like... Scott Brown and Promo make me cringe when I hear them.
>>would Angerfist be nu or old?
Artists like Angerfist, Noize Suppressor, Tha Playah, Mad Dog, etc... are all Nu Style artists, for the most part.
i don't know why i'm typing all of this
i feel like a prude
fucking tits

they can if you make them. good music is good music, good musical movements are created with good music. except for that donk shit. what the fuck is that.
