Nika is a member of a species of wyvern that is highly valued as a mount due to its exceptional speed, agility, and intelligence. Like many others of her species, she was stolen from her mother's nest as an egg and raised as a mount to be sold to a master upon graduation from her training.

Nika has never known anything except captivity, so unquestioning obedience to her master comes naturally. Individuals of her species selected as mounts are bound to their masters for life.

Due to her upbringing, Nika is highly submissive and obedient, and the thought of simply taking flight and never returning to her master has never crossed her mind. This hasn't stopped her from being curious about the wild dragons she's seen flying overhead, though. How strange to see them flying around wherever they like without a master to answer to!
