I realized I haven't posted here in a while!
So this was something I started a few weeks ago but finished today. Sorry about the inactivity, school seems to be getting in the way of stuff. The next bit of stuff is some story to go along with the picture. THIS PART OF IT IS SORT OF DEPRESSING, THIS IS A WARNING!
Some story on it (IT IS DEPRESSING, ANOTHER WARNING!!!):
Present day...
Zayev almost forgot he was cuffed to a chair being interrogated by this other black wolf infront of him in the dark room.
The black wolf pulled a picture from the dossier he had infront of him and placed it infront of Zayev. "This other wolf in the picture, who is he?"
"Mingan" Zayev replied "his name is Mingan, my best friend."
"When was this picture taken?" the black wolf asked.
"A couple of years ago, before I lost part of my ear."
The desert sun was hot. Zayev didn't know how Mingan was keeping his sleeves unrolled but he was. They were only on patroll for about five minutes and Zayev was already breaking a sweat like he never had before.
"It should be illegal to patroll on a day this hot!" Mingan yelled behind himself.
"Hey, be thankfull your not actualy working out like the other squads!" Zayev replied.
Just then he heard some unknown footsteps behind him. He diregarded it for another soldier coming in to cool off from a long patroll when a young voice called out "Excuse me, privates! Excuse me!" Bothe Zayev and Mingan turned around to find a small white fox with black hair and black tipped ears coming towards them with a professional camera. He couldn't have been older than Zayev was, infact he could have been two or three years younger than him. He definitley was in the army, he was wearing the standard desert camo but not all the patches, probably a photo journalist."What can we do for you?" Mingan asked. The fox stopped and leaned over with his hands on his knees gasping for breath holding his hand up in the air with the gesture to give him a minute to catch his breath. "Would it be okay if I got a picture of you two for a photo journalism article in a newspaper back home?" Zayev looked at Mingan and they nodded their heads in agreement.
"Of course!" Zayev replied as they turned and smiled.
The fox was overjoyed and proceeded to take the picture. Then with the snap of the camera the fox checked to see if the picture was good then with excitement called out "perfect!"
He proceeded forwards to shake their hands. "Thank you fellas so much!"
Zayev snapped back to where he was now, sitting in the room again.
The black wolf looked at the picture. "It came out pretty good, didn't it?"
Zayev looked at the picture and sighed heavily. "The picture came out of there perfect, but the fox who took it,..." Zayev's voice began to break, he took a deep breath. "He wasn't so lucky... I swear to god, that was the first amount of pure joy I saw come from anybody like that." Zayev took another second to breath again. "That kid barely made out of there alive, it was the largest attack I had ever seen. I can still remember seeing that kid behind cover armed with his camera still taking pictures with all the chaos around him."
Zayev recalled that moment when he saw the fox peak out of cover to snap a picture and seeing the bullet wounds on his lower torso. Then him being blown away by a rogue shot and him flopping to the floor. Then someone carrying him off away from the battle. That was also the moment he lost that little part of his ear. His left ear started to sting like the wound was fresh.
"Can you take me to that moment, it's important that we know exactly what happened during that time." The black wolf asked.
Zayev nodded his head, and proceeded to tell him.
