Sprite Series: Gorosaurus Custom Sprite Attempt
Another day, another kaiju sprite.
Debuting in the same movie as Mechani-Kong, "King Kong Escapes", Gorosaurus served as the obligatory "Dinosaur Fight" for King Kong, erupting over an obvious disagreement about the latest blonde hottie to come around.
Despite suffering a loss at the hands of Kong, he would return at least one more time in the movie "Destroy All Monsters". Sadly, he hasn't been seen much since.
Made this sprite from a V-Rex sprite, from the King Kong remake Gameboy Advance game. Heavily edited of course, to give him a more upright posture, and more straightened hind-legs.
Quite happy with how this turned out. Hope you all enjoy.

I've always liked Gorosaurus. He's a prime example of how sometimes the simple approach works best. Same with Titanosaurus. Well, okay, so Titanosaurus had a pretty flashy character design for the time, but, he was just a dinosaur. Call me old-fashioned but I've never been a huge fan of "beam and missile" type kaiju. Gigan and MechaGodzilla being exceptions since they were relatively original when they first debuted.
Anyway he looks awesome.
